Updates/Info:
There was no speaker at our April meeting, so members had an opportunity for a good chat.
- We discussed the summer event and the consensus seemed to be to have a picnic, possibly at Burghley Park, Stamford. It’s free to access the Park and picnics are allowed. The event will be subsidised by Club funds towards the food. The date is likely to be in August at a weekend.
- I am also looking into putting together welcome packs for new members, and have been given a lot of ideas of things that new members would find helpful.
- We also discussed hosting a workshop at one of our meetings as something a bit different and to bring us all together doing something creative. I am making enquiries on this and will keep you posted.
East of England Cancer Alliances. I received an email; Essentially, they are looking for volunteers that were diagnosed with cancer after attending A&E. They want to understand how to improve the way cancer is diagnosed in the East of England and so have a short online survey or an option to have a 45 minute online or phone interview. I attach a poster for more information if anyone is interested in participating.
Strawberry Tea : 29 June 2024 – 3.00 pm to 5.30 pm.
A reminder for our afternoon strawberry tea. The cost is £5 each. Family and friends are welcome to come. Helen (not me) has kindly agreed to host the event at her home. Full details will be on the tickets. Numbers will be limited to 36. There will be tea, cake, scones, jam and cream on the day as well as a raffle, tombola and plant sale. Can I please ask members to bring along to the next meetings any items that can go into the raffle and the tombola.
