Thank you to all those who came to the meeting and for the breast care nurses who attended. With the latter it was discussed whether it would be beneficial for the nurses to come to each monthly meeting. The general consensus was for the nurses to attend every 3 months and use that time to update us on any developments. They will of course answer questions as usual. It was also agreed that if anyone did have any pressing questions in the intervening period they can let the co-ordinator Helen know and she can send an email to them.

Breast Pain Clinic:
This new one-stop specialist clinic will be held at Doddington Community Hospital. It will allow the quick assessment and support of women in the community with breast pain only, providing there is the absence of a lump or any other abnormalities.

Guest Speaker:
Our guest speaker for the evening was Lisa Deacon who kindly joined us to tell us about the services offered at the Wellbeing Centre (formerly the Robert Horrell Centre). For those who don’t know where it is, you will find it a little further along from the Oncology Unit at PDH. Lisa told us about the wide range of practical and therapeutic services/courses available at the Centre to include acupuncture, relaxation techniques, arts and craft, advice on diet, managing hormone treatments, sexuality and cancer.
