Welcome to June’s Newsletter and welcome to the new members who joined us for our June meeting.
Nurses:
The representatives from the Breast Care Unit were Nikita and Liz.
Two questions posed to the Nurses from members were sent to the nurses in advance of the meeting: 1. Please explain the difference between edema and lymphedema and 2. A member was required to have a mammogram. After the test she received a text message to say someone from the clinical team would be calling her. She wanted to know if this was the procedure now that results would be given over the telephone.
Breast Care Unit and Feedback:
It was flagged in patient reviews when attending the Breast Care Unit that patients did not know the name of the doctor or the nurse they would be seeing. The Unit now has a picture of the doctor and the nurse taking the clinic on the notice board in the reception area.
