A warm welcome to our new members who came along to March meeting.
Reika Wellbeing
There are four free vouchers left for members to have a wellbeing session with Michelina Neath. The vouchers are for a trio of treatments: Reflexology, Massage & Reiki. Please let me know if you would like a voucher. They need to be used by the 12 June 2025. I will bring them to the April Meeting. A reminder the vouchers are being given away. They were bought with Group funds for members to use, so if you want one, please do ask.
Strawberry Tea and fund-raising event
Dates were discussed at the last meeting for our annual Strawberry Team and fund-raising event. Helen kindly agreed to host the event again. Suggested dates 21st June or 28th June. Date will be confirmed at the April meeting. I will start collecting prizes for the raffle and tombola so if you can please start to bring any items to the May and June meetings.
Summer event
Last year our summer event was a picnic at Burghley House with the Stamford Cancer Support Group. Members at the March meeting suggested another picnic for our summer event. If anyone has any other ideas for the summer event, then please do share. The summer event will be on the 30 August 2025.
Eloise Lingerie
A number of members visited Eloise Lingerie on a group visit. They are based in Milton Keynes. The staff were excellent. We all had private consultations and fittings. Refreshments were provided. I have been in contact with Jean Ralph from Eloise she is to come to our May meeting to give a presentation. Some members have already put their names down for the day visit which will be a weekday. I am confirming with her a date for the visit. Please let me know if you would like to go to Milton Keynes, so I can give her an idea on numbers. Fittings take place in the morning followed by a lunch at a nearby pub.
Life Planning and Wills
Members have expressed an interest in having another talk from a solicitor to talk about life planning and wills. I am arranging for a solicitor from Buckles Solicitors to attend one of our meetings.
Xmas Meal
I know it is a long way off, but we need to book our Xmas meal well in advance. We are looking at the Black Horse at Elton, Peterborough this year. They have a private room we can use. Carol kindly agreed to make enquiries and will report back.
Call to Arms – Committee Members needed
I am looking to set up a working committee to help run and expand the Group and its activities. We have such a lovely group of ladies with amazing skills and talents we need to tap into those attributes to help with running the Group to include looking at supporting and promoting the Group. It would be great to have some more fund-raising events. I am mindful that I am not a great user of social media. We have a Facebook page which is not very active, and I really want to promote the Group for all the women and men who are daily being diagnosed with breast cancer and need the support of this lovely Group. So please don’t be shy come and join our new Committee. Rest assured it will not involve lots of meetings!
